2010 Olympic Medals

Today, VANOC and Vancouver 2010 Official Supporters unveiled the Olympic and Paralympic medals that will decorate the gold, silver and bronze medallists of the 2010 Winter Games.

Their undulating forms evoke British Columbia’s mountains, ocean and snow. Their faces are drawn from West Coast First Nations artwork depicting the orca and raven. Each is unique. And their substantial size gives them a significant presence.

Like the native-inspired artwork, dislike the "bent" appearance.

I kind of like the form but I also think they kind of look like they were put on a train track and a train smashed them.

Wow I like them soo much
I like the fact that they aren't flat, It make it both 3d and 2d.
They are kind of actual, but the native art throw them back in the past either.

HEART IT!!! All the metals are different and are darned heavy! It's always interesting to see how each host country approaches the medals. I CANNOT WAIT until they open. The flame was started last week in a dawn ceremony...eek I'm giddy!
