Heavy Reading

The Kansas City library asked the residents of Kansas City to nominate books meaningful to their town, then blew them up to a large scale on the exterior. It's only temporary, although in my opinion this should never come down. It reminds me of Honey I Shrunk the Kids and I love that about it. RIck Moranis would approve.

The Cardiff public library in the UK had done it with paperbacks as well (below)— but even though they had the idea first, I really enjoy the personal touch of Kansas's version and it's sense of community.

as a book lover, i must admit that this is the coolest thing ever. it's simple, but inventive and fascinating enough to carry the idea. i LOVE it.
