Enjoy the Peep Show!
One of my favorite new Easter Sunday traditions is definitely getting to see the winner of the Washington Post's Peep Show. Above, this year's blue ribbon: Night Peeps, by Melissa Harvey. A graphic designer, of course! Below, two personal favorites: The Peep is Right, and As Seen On Peep TV, which features a peep wearing a Snuggie, reading Peeple while his bunny buddy uses a Thighmaster. Sand Art
When you were a kid, did you ever create sand-in-the-bottle art? I remember doing this craft project at church festivals and fairs...and I loved them!Now you can create your own virtual sand-on-the screen at thisissand.com. This website is highly addictive and just as satisfying as pouring colored sand into a plastic bottle.
P.S. The gallery is hilarious. I cannot image how it took some people to create these things.••••

Chocolate + Design = Dieting
I can't say that I would ever buy this, but the concept is unique. “Rompibollo is a chocolate bar which can be easily divided in pieces of different dimensions. On the relief of each piece, is the calorie count of chocolate." And get this...an Italian company, Adieffe, designed this. Can you imagine if everything you ate had the calories printed directly on the food?!••••

If I wanted to own a scale...
...this would be the one. Spotted in this month's Print, this animal scale is the work of Irish illustrator Chris Judge. Judge is one of twelve exceptional illustrators featured and interviewed in this issue of the magazine. His work is described as "a little bit menacing and a little bit cute"— you can check out more on his website, or view recent projects at his blog. 
The article mentions that the scale was created in collaboration with Angry Retail, but when I checked out their website they had a different version for sale (above). I think the understated silhouettes are pretty nice as well, and the celebrity weighing scale is kind of a riot too. ••••

"My computer could totally do that..."
Plant yourself in front of a Jackson Pollock painting at your local Art Museum, and stand still for 10 minutes. Fact: within that short span of time, there will be at at least one museum-goer who sidles up alongside you and remarks audibly, "My two year old could paint that!" And as much as that sometimes aggravates me, I still get a big kick out of jacksonpollock.org, a fun website by Miltos Mancias that lets you (or your small child) make your very own, mess-free, virtual drip painting. Splatter away... ••••
