Rotten Oranges

Bad News for everyone of you who praised the new Tropicana packaging.

"PepsiCo, reportedly bowing to consumer demand, is reversing a decision to change the packaging of Tropicana Pure Premium orange juice. The longtime symbol of an orange with a straw in it was replaced with a glass of orange juice. The New York Times reports customers complained. The old design will be back next month." via NPR

Good while it lasted.

YES! I could not be happier.
NOTE: How does their new tag line "Squeeze it's a natural" make grammatical sense...?

LOL...that's awesome. What a waste of money! but glad the old packaging is coming back. "Squeeze it's a natural"...who wrote that?!

"Squeeze -- It's a Natural," seeks to establish an emotional connection between consumers and orange juice by reminding them of the positive ritual associated with starting each morning with Tropicana Pure Premium Orange Juice."

I work in Marketing...and even I'll admit this sounds like a bunch of mumbo jumbo.

I would love to read the feedback and emails that Tropicana received about the packaging.

WHAT? I think that is LAME. I like the new. NEW NEW NEW!!!

I agree about the "squeezit'sanatural," that's how I say it and no, that never seemed to flow but I can see how the tag line would develop. Green, organic and natural are the way to go!

I like the top on this packaging- it's half an orange! How can you argue with that? I guess in these crazy times people just want the things they associate with comfort to stay the same. But everywhere I look here in Boston there are billboards with this campaign, are those buh-bye now? Sad. I like the photography in the campaign.

SQUEEZE.

1. They will be keeping the half-orange cap on some of the newer products they will be debuting.
2. Things I would approve of: SQUEEZE-It's natural.
As it is now, I feel like their tag line is based on a typo!

While this seems on the surface to be a big time FAIL for Tropicana, I think that it falls under the rule that "No publicity is bad publicity." Now that they are going back to the old packaging, I think people will appreciate it even more. Overall, this packaging controversy will definitely boost their sales.

I do love those half-orange caps! I am glad they are sticking with those.
