Today, I saw a beautiful (but sad) commercial for the South African investment firm Allen Gray. The concept: James Dean lives a long and prosperous live. The tagline: Given more time, imagine the possibilities.
Cinematic advertising at its best. ••••

There’s something wrong with my laptop I can’t see the video you posted.
I absolutely agree with you.
Wah Wah. Mi dispiace Tesserino but I am NOT a fan of this commercial. Tugging at the heart strings to invest money?!?!? I am SO OVER THIS!!! Why should I trust these people? First, not a new concept: hindsight is 20/20. Second: who is this targeted at? People that came up in the age of Dean should've been investing long term YEARS ago.
I heart James Dean by the way.
I get it, imagine the possibilities. What about if they actually talked about what they sold? Oh, that's boring. So, let's take people's money they want to invest then spend a portion on that to get more people to invest more money so we can all make even more money. MONEY, MONEY, MONEY.
I would've liked this commercial more if it showed ACTUAL people doing things, like Princess Diana. There is someone who was gone too soon who ACTUALLY did humanitarian things.
In the end, I'm becoming very cynical about these things even if they are done tastefully.
Not sure what got into me tonight...
